Stater Bros. Markets, including those in Chino and Chino Hills, will collect money through Dec. 31 to fund local food banks in the areas the company serves.

The stores will sell $5 “Bag of Hope” donation cards and also display holiday cannisters to collect cash and coin donations.

The annual “Harvesting Hope” holiday campaign has resulted in donations of more than $1.3 million to support hunger relief programs, said Pete Van Helden, CEO of Stater Bros. Markets.
