Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center has announced it has received the Healthgrades 2019 Patient Safety Excellence Award, placing the hospital among the top 10 percent of short-term acute care hospitals reporting patient safety data as evaluated by Healthgrades, an online resource about physicians and hospitals.

Recently, the hospital has invested in patient safety culture training for associates and physicians, added a pharmacy robotics system to enhance safety, and implemented a “provider on arrival” at triage in the emergency room where an emergency medicine physician quickly assesses the patient for level of care needed.
