Mamma Mia!

“Mamma Mia!,” a play about a young woman’s search for her birth father propelled by the pop music of ABBA, will open at 8 p.m. Friday, April 19 at the Chino Community Theatre, 13123 Seventh St.

The debut performance has already been sold out as well as the April 26, 28 and May 5 performances.

Remaining performances are 8 p.m. April 20, 27, May 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11; and 2:30 p.m. April 21.

The play is directed by Christopher Diehl, musically directed by Joshua Himes, and choreographed by Ryan Schultze.

On the eve of her wedding, Sophie invites three men from her mother’s past to the Greek island paradise they visited 20 years ago.

When Sophie’s three potential fathers show up, her mother, Donna, is suddenly confronted with a past she thought was far behind her.

The play features the ABBA songs “Dancing Queen,” “Take a Chance on Me,” “The Winner Takes It All,” and many more.

Tickets are $18 for general admission, and $15 for seniors and students, and can be purchased by calling the box office at 590-1149 or by visiting chinocommunitytheatre.
