A 20-year-old Chino Hills man remains jailed on $1 million bail on suspicion of holding a female against her will and sexually and physically abusing her for more than a week at a Chino Hills home.

Lowell Alastaire Nichols was arrested at 2:52 p.m. at the intersection of Yellowstone Circle and Lassen Court in Chino and booked into the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga. Mr. Nichols has since been transferred to the Adelanto Detention Center in the High Desert, according to jail records.

He is facing charges of felony spousal abuse, false imprisonment, making criminal threats, assault with a deadly weapon and torture, said Detective Kyle Glaser.

Mr. Nichols has entered pleas of not guilty, court records show.

Deputies received a call July 31 from a woman reporting she had been held against her will from July 22 to July 31 by a man at his home, the detective said.

“Over the course of that week, (the suspect) continuously sexually abused and physically assaulted the woman. The victim received a broken nose and wrist,” he added.

The relationship between the suspect and victim is not known.

Anyone with information can call Chino Hills Police at 364-2000.
