Evelyn Ellen Allen

On Thursday, March 28, 2019, Evy Allen, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away at Chino Valley Medical Center in Chino at the age of 98.

She was born Evelyn Ellen Ramacher on July 10, 1920 to parents Cornelius and Katherine (Scholl) Ramacher. She was one of 13 siblings who grew up on a modest farm in Minnesota. During World War II, she moved to Los Angeles, California where she worked in the Goodyear Tire factory. It was there that she met her husband, George (“Bob”), who was her supervisor before he headed off to serve in the Merchant Marines. Once married, and after the war ended, she settled in Chino, California where she was a resident for more than 70 years. She and Bob celebrated 75 years of marriage last year.

Evy was the life of the party, loved to tell stories and jokes, and had a wonderful laugh. She enjoyed growing roses in the front yard and tending her fruit and nut trees in the back. Evy was a hostess to many parties and holidays at her home where she showcased her wonderful cooking and baking skills. She most enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she spoiled regularly.

Evy is survived by her husband, Bob, her daughter Judy Bonecki, two granddaughters Andrea (Mike) Wood and Tina (Greg) Pilon, and four great-grandchildren Jared and Cameron Wood, and April and Summer Pilon. She was predeceased by son, Gerald (“Jerry”) Allen.
