Three people were arrested and 18 drivers were cited during a Chino Police Department DUI and driver’s license checkpoint April 19 in the 14000 block of Euclid Avenue in Chino.

Nearly 850 drivers passed through the six-and-a-half hour checkpoint, said police spokeswoman Tamrin Olden.

One driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, one on drug charges and one on an outstanding warrant.

Eleven people were cited for driving without a license or on a suspended license and seven drivers were cited for various infractions, Mrs. Olden said. Police impounded eight cars during the checkpoint.

Funding for the checkpoint came from a grant by the California Office of Traffic Safety.
