Chino Hills High softball player Brooke Johnson earned Maxpreps All-American honors and Ayala High baseball player Joe Naranjo was named a Maxpreps California Large Schools honoree for the 2019 season this week. 

Chino Hills High’s Kiki Estrada and Kayla Chavez were named to the Maxpreps All-American Underclass team for the 2019 season. 

Johnson, who will attend DePaul University in Chicago, led Chino Hills High (28-5) in every offensive category with a .544 average, 56 hits, 52 runs, a 1.184 slugging percentage, 25 walks and a .633 on-base percentage. She was named an All CIF-Southern Section honoree this season. 

Naranjo, a third-round selection by the Cleveland Indians in the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft earlier this month, was an All CIF-Southern Section honoree after hitting .381 with 29 RBIS, eight home runs and 30 runs scored. 

On the mound, Naranjo went 7-3 with a 1.25 earned-run-average and struck out 65 hitters.  

Estrada, a freshman, batted .480 with 24 extra-base hits, recorded 47 RBIs and accounted for 83 runs for Chino Hills. She has verbally committed to the University of Arkansas. 

Chavez, a sophomore, hit 542 with 42 RBI, 13 home runs and recorded 45 hits this season.
