Ayala fell to 2-5 in league play Wednesday after scoring a season-low in points in a loss to Bonita.

Ayala 68, South Hills 55

Kristian Curl scored 30 points Jan. 26 to lead the Bulldogs past the Huskies in a league game inside the Ayala High gym. 

Baseline League

Etiwanda 67, Chino Hills 63

Etiwanda clinched at least a share of the Baseline League title Tuesday night, holding off Chino Hills by four points at the Etiwanda High gym. Chino Hills High’s Onyeka Okongwu led all scorers with 30 points. He also grabbed 16 rebounds and blocked seven shots. Ofure Ujadughele added 17 points for Chino Hills, which fell to 14-9 overall, 4-3 in the league standings. Krystian Wilson and Kessler Edwards scored 15 points apiece for Etiwanda (24-1, 7-0), which claimed its first Baseline League title since 2014. 

Chino Hills 66, Damien 50

The Huskies improved to 4-2 in league and took over second place in the Baseline League with their Jan. 26 win over the Spartans. 

Mt. Baldy League

Colony 79, Don Lugo 56

Don Lugo fell to 2-22 overall and 1-6 in league play Tuesday, falling to 12-time defending league champion Colony. 

Colony improved to 7-0 in the league standings.

Montclair 63, Don Lugo 59

Montclair improved to 5-1 in league play with a win Jan. 26 over Don Lugo (1-5).

Ambassador League

Ontario Christian 85, Western Christian 58

Ontario Christian jumped out to a 27-9 lead after one quarter and never trailed Western Christian in its victory Tuesday. 

Ontario Christian 53, Arrowhead Christian 44

Julian Alvarez scored 12 points and Jonathan Colvin added 11 points Jan. 26 to lead the Knights past Arrowhead Christian Academy.

Rolling Hills Prep State Preview

Chino Hills 75, Santa Monica 56

Chino Hills junior Onyeka Okongwu scored 29 points, added 13 rebounds and four blocks in the Huskies win last Saturday at the Rolling Hills Prep State Preview showcase at Cerritos College in Norwalk.

The Bulldogs (19-5, 6-1) won for the seventh time in their last eight games Tuesday night.

Ayala 61, South Hills 51

Ayala’s Hailey Timon scored a career-high 16 points as the Bulldogs improved to 5-1 in league Jan. 26 with a win against the Huskies.

Hacienda League

West Covina 66, Chino 59

Chino’s Stephanie Custodio scored 21 points, Alice Barajas and Marisa Gonzales added 12 points apiece, and Emerly Lam scored 10 points Jan. 26 in the Cowgirls’ loss to West Covina. Ashly Rodriguez had 23 points, Lauren Bustillos added 16 points and Malia Ili had 15 points the Bulldogs.

Baseline League

Etiwanda 66, Chino Hills 46

Chino Hills High’s Dorcus Wu scored 19 points, Moriah Serrano added 13 points and Iris Cook had 10 points, but the Huskies couldn’t catch Etiwanda Tuesday night. Etiwanda improved to 19-4 overall, 7-0 in league. Chino Hills fell to 12-10, 3-4. 

Chino Hills 64, St. Lucy’s 30

Three Chino Hills players scored in double figures Jan. 26 in the Huskies win over St. Lucy’s. Dorcus Wu led the way with 26 points, Moriah Serrano added 13 points and Iris Cook chipped in with 10 points for the Huskies.

Mt. Baldy League

Don Lugo 56, Colony 52 (OT)

Don Lugo High’s Jailah Lee had 12 points and 12 rebounds and Brianna Shuttle added 11 points and 10 rebounds as the Conquistadores’ rallied for an overtime win Tuesday at Colony High in Ontario. Alexis Cordero chipped in with 11 points for Don Lugo, which improved to 6-1 in league. 

Don Lugo 49, Montclair 25

Don Lugo’s Brianna Shuttle scored 13 points and Jailah Lee grabbed 13 rebounds Jan. 26 in the Conquistadores’ win over Montclair. 

Ambassador League

Ontario Christian 45, Western Christian 29

Hannah Noreen scored a team-high nine points in the Knights’ win Tuesday. Cassandra Gishwiller and Sydney Nystrom added eight points apiece for Ontario Christian, which improved to 16-6 overall, 8-3 in league.

Ontario Christian 43, Arrowhead Christian 32

Ontario Christian’s Cassandra Gishwiller had a team-high nine points in the Knights’ win over Arrowhead Christian.

The Bulldogs improved to a league record of 4-2 with their shut out win Tuesday against the Brahmas.

Ayala fell to 3-3 in league play Jan. 25 with a loss to the Bearcats.

Chino 4, West Covina 1

The Cowboys scored two first-half goals and added two more goals in the second half Jan. 26 in a win over West Covina to remain undefeated in league play at 6-0.

Baseline League

Damien 2, Chino Hills 1

Damien’s Trevor Goodenough and Justin Lopez had one goal apiece Jan. 26 in the Spartans’ win over Chino Hills. 

Mt. Baldy League

Montclair 5, Don Lugo 1

Montclair’s Kiram Valdiva had a goal and three assists Jan. 26 in the Cavaliers’ win over Don Lugo.

Ivan Rodriguez, Rogelio Velazquez, Angel Rodriguez and Israel Rodriguez each had a goal for Montclair (4-1-1 in league).

Ontario Christian 6, Western Christian 0

Evan Sadler scored three goals, Ben de Falkenberg had two goals and an assist and Matthew Bourne added a goal Tuesday in Ontario Christian’s shut out win over the Fighting Lancers.

Ontario Christian 4, Arrowhead Christian 2

Ontario Christian’s Matthew Bourne netted two goals and Jesus Rodriguez and Ben de Falkenburg had one goal apiece to lead the Knights past Arrowhead Christian Jan. 26.

Diamond Bar scored all three of its goals Tuesday in the second half to force a tie with Ayala.

The Bulldogs’ record moved to 4-2-1 in league with a scoreless tie with the Bearcats Jan. 25.

Chino 1, West Covina 1

Chino’s Marina Ortiz scored a goal Jan. 26 in the Cowgirls’ tie with West Covina. 

Baseline League

Chino Hills 2, Etiwanda 0

The Huskies (5-2 in league) kept Etiwanda out of the win column Tuesday with a shut out victory. Etiwanda fell to 0-6-1 in league. 

Chino Hills 2, St. Lucy’s 0

Chino Hills improved its overall record to 11-3-2 and its league record to 4-2 after shutting out the Regents (11-9-2. 1-5) Jan. 26. 

Mt. Baldy League

Montclair 8, Don Lugo 2

Don Lugo’s Shay McCool had a goal and an assist and Celeste Valencia added a goal, but Montclair scored six of its eight goals in the second half Jan. 26 to earn a win over the Conquistadores.

Karla Garcia-Limon scored four goals, Anabel Noches had two goals and Ivonne Tlatenchi and Stephanie Verdon had one goal apiece for Montclair.

Ambassador League

Arrowhead Christian 8, Ontario Christian 3

Arrowhead Christian’s Cassidi Calzaretta scored four goals and Taryn Clark and Faith Joiner added two goals apiece Jan. 26 in their team’s win over Ontario Christian. 

Clark and Joiner combined for five assists in the win.

Ayala 11, Diamond Bar 8

Ayala snapped its five-game league losing streak Tuesday with a win over Diamond Bar. 

Baseline League

Rancho Cucamonga 16, Chino Hills 1

Chino Hills fell to 3-12 overall, 1-6 in league play Tuesday with a loss to Rancho Cucamonga.

Mt. Baldy League

Don Lugo 9, Colony 4

With Tuesday’s win over Colony, Don Lugo improved its league record to 5-2. Colony fell to 1-6.
