Ontario Christian defeats Arrowhead Christian 25-23, 25-19, 25-22

Ontario Christian improved to 15-9-1 overall and 4-1 in league with Tuesday’s straight-sets win over Arrowhead Christian (12-4, 4-1).

Ayala 207, Alta Loma 242

Ayala’s Amaan Patel won medalist honors April 4 with a one-over 38 at Los Serranos Golf and Country Club in Chino Hills, leading the Bulldogs to a victory over Alta Loma. With the win, Ayala improved to 9-1 overall, 5-0 in league.

Ayala 1, Glendora 0

Cassandra Roman drove in Hannah Hughbanks in the top of the first inning for the game’s only run Monday afternoon, leading Ayala past Glendora at the Glendora High School field. Ayala starting pitcher Victoria Mendoza threw five innings, struck out five and allowed four hits. Emily Levitt picked up the save, tossing the final two innings and striking out four. 

Ayala 8, Alta Loma 0

Ayala High pitcher Emily Leavitt tossed a one hitter, struck out nine and walked two in the Bulldogs’ shut-out win April 5. Hannah Hughbanks finished 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored and Tatiana Garcia finished 1 for 3 with two RBIs for Ayala. 

Mt. Baldy League

Chino 5, Diamond Bar 1

Chino (7-2 in league) pulled into a first-place tie with Diamond Bar (7-2 in league) in the Mt. Baldy League standings with Monday’s win at Diamond Bar High. Violet Salazar, Emily Jordan, Brianna Juarez and Katana James all recorded an RBI for Chino. 

Chino 11, Chaffey 2

Katana James and Milaysia Ochoa each hit a home run and Karagan Varela finished with two hits and three RBIs to lead Chino High past Chaffey April 5. Emily Jordan had two RBIs and Violet Salazar, Brianna Juarez and Brianna Mills each knocked in a run for Chino.  

Don Lugo 10, Montclair 2

Don Lugo’s Ellie Garcia had a single, double, home run and two RBIs and Madison Flexser singled, doubled, homered and had two RBIs to lead the Conquistadores past Montclair on April 5. Nevaeh Lujan singled, doubled and knocked in two runs and Morgan Flexser knocked in a run for Don Lugo.

Ontario Christian 12, Arrowhead Christian 2

Ontario Christian’s Bridgette Trujillo hit two doubles and brought home two runs and Reese Montgomery went 4 for 4 with four RBIs to lead the Knights past Arrowhead Christian Tuesday. Samantha Valenciano had a single, double and two RBIs and Kaitlyn Hawkins, Xoe Ulloa, Skyler Sutton and Harper Haagsma each had an RBI for Ontario Christian.

Bonita 2, Ayala 1 

The Bulldogs fell to 9-2 in  the league standings with Wednesday loss at Bonita High in La Verne. Cole Koniarsky had an RBI double for Ayala. 

Ayala 9, Alta Loma 0

Ayala’s Joe Naranjo went 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs and Dylan Cook pitched a complete-game shutout April 5 in the Bulldogs’ win over Alta Loma. Cook struck out four and allowed six hits to earn the win. Cook, Jacob Badawi, John Pappas, Luke Solis and Rico Figueroa each had an RBI for Ayala. 

Mt. Baldy League

Don Lugo 8, Ontario 0

Don Lugo’s Johnnie Valdez and Connor Burns hit a home run in the Conquistadores’ win Monday over the Jaguars. 

Don Lugo 2, Montclair 1

Don Lugo scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning April 5 for a come-from-behind win over the Cavaliers. David Vizcaino had two hits for Don Lugo.  

Chaffey 10, Chino 2

Chaffey’s Ricky Rodarte had two hits and four RBIs April 5 to lead the Tigers over the Cowboys in league play. Brandon Monico and Vince Navarette had two RBIs each for Chaffey. 

Baseline League

Chino Hills 8, Los Osos 6

The Huskies snapped a four-game losing streak with Wednesday’s two-run victory over the Grizzlies. 

Los Osos 13, Chino Hills 2

Chino Hills fell to 10-11 overall, 2-5 in league play with Monday’s loss. 

Damien 9, Chino Hills 1

Chino Hills High’s Andrew Tovar had three hits and Connor Brady and Henry Martinez finished with two hits each last Saturday, but the Huskies fell to Damien at the Battle of the Baseline League event at Loanmart Field in Rancho Cucamonga. Andre Lopez and Jacob Lopez had two RBIs each for Damien, which won its 12th consecutive game after starting the season at 0-6. 

Ambassador League

Ontario Christian 4, Arrowhead Christian 0

Ontario Christian’s Alexander Terriquez and Moses Serrano had a hit and two RBIs Tuesday in the Knights’ shut out win over Arrowhead Christian. Pitchers Dylan Schwartz (one inning), Dylan Alanis (3.2 innings) and Ryan Poling (2.1 innings) combined to strike out eight and allowed six hits.
