Baseline League 

Chino Hills 203, Upland 213 

Chino Hills secured the Baseline League championship Tuesday afternoon, beating Upland by 10 strokes to improve to a 9-0 league record. Emma Tang fired a one-under 33, Bianca Sun shot a 39 and Tiffany Yoo and Catherine Li each finished with a 40. The Huskies will compete in the Ayala Fall Classic Monday at Los Serranos Golf and Country Club in Chino Hills.

Palomares League

Glendora 45, Ayala 38

Glendora outscored Ayala 17-0 in the fourth quarter to pull out a seven-point win to open the Palomares League season. Ayala’s Xavier Crockett rushed for 205 yards on 25 carries and scored a touchdown. Cole McCain (eight carries, 125 yards) and Michael Stine III (eight carries, 30 yards) had one touchdown each. McCain tossed two touchdown passes to David Diaz, who finished with four catches for 150 yards. Glendora running back Xzavier Ford ran for 285 yards on 26 carries, scoring three touchdowns for the Tartans. Cade Marshman (six catches, 69 yards) caught two touchdown passes from Jacob Gonzalez in the Tartans’ victory.

Mt. Baldy League

Diamond Bar 34, Chino 25

Chino trailed 16-0 after the first quarter and 22-13 at halftime of its loss to Diamond Bar in the Mt. Baldy League opener for both teams. Diamond Bar’s Jeremiah Chukwudobe ran 23 times for 239 yards and three touchdowns for the Brahmas, who improved to 2-4 overall.

Baseline League

Rancho Cucamonga 35, Chino Hills 14

Chino Hills High running back Walter Carl III had 21 carries for 169 yards and a touchdown, but the Huskies open Baseline League play with a 21-point loss to the Cougars. The Huskies as a team rushed for 172 yards in the game. Quarterback Brayden Fawcett completed 5 of 15 passes for 49 yards and threw two interceptions for the Huskies in the loss. Chino Hills’ Giovanni Isles returned a kick 94 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter for the Huskies.

Ambassador League

Aquinas 34, Ontario Christian 7

Ontario Christian’s Connor Mooneyham ran in a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to stop the shut out in the Knights’ 27-point loss to Aquinas. Aquinas (5-1, 1-0) led 14-0 at halftime and 28-0 after three quarters.

Girls volleyball

Ambassador League

Ontario Christian defeats Aquinas 22-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-10 

Ontario Christian, the No. 1-ranked team in Division 5 of the CIF-Southern Section, defeated No. 3 Aquinas in four sets Tuesday night to improve to 20-2 overall, 11-0 in league play. With the win, Ontario Christian clinched at least a share of the Ambassador League championship. Annaka Jorgenson led the Knights with 19 kills and three aces. Jenna Holmes finished with 10 kills and two aces for Ontario Christian.

Mt. Baldy League

Don Lugo defeats Montclair 25-20, 25-18, 25-22

Don Lugo’s Ellie Garcia recorded 10 kills, Lauren McCamish served six aces and had 24 assists, Alysa Ochoa finished with 15 digs and Nicole Briggs had five blocks in the Conquistadores’ straight-sets victory Tuesday over the Cavaliers. 

Chino defeats Chaffey 25-20, 25-21, 25-17

A straight-sets victory over Chaffey Tuesday night propelled the Cowgirls’ overall season record to 10-8, 5-2 in league play. Chaffey fell to 2-13 overall, 1-6 in league.

Junior varsity score: Chino defeats Chaffey 25-14, 25-20.

Palomares League

Bonita defeats Ayala 23-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-20

Ayala fell to a record of 14-15 overall, 2-6 in the league standings with Tuesday’s loss to the Bearcats (17-6, 5-3).

Gabrielino Tournament

Ayala High scores from last weekend’s tournament in San Gabriel: Los Altos defeats Ayala 25-22, 21-25, 16-14; Ayala defeats Mark Keppel, 2-0; Immaculate Heart defeats Ayala 25-21; Ayala defeats Marshall 25-15, 25-23.

Diamond Bar (4-0 in league) took over sole possession of first place in the league standings Wednesday with a five-goal win over Don Lugo (3-1 in league)

Ambassador League

Alta Loma 15, Ayala 5

Alta Loma remained undefeated in league play Tuesday with a 10-goal win over Ayala. The Braves improved to 11-1 overall, 4-0 in league. With the loss, Ayala fell to 3-14 overall, 1-2 in league.
