All nine Chino Hills High starters collected at least one hit, including David Martin, who finished 2 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs in the Huskies win over the Cougars.

Palomares League

Ayala 8, Claremont 1

Cole Koniarsky had two hits and three RBIs and John Pappas and Connor Valenzuela knocked in two runs each March 15 to lead Ayala past Claremont in league play.

Mt. Baldy League

Don Lugo 7, Ontario 0

Don Lugo improved to 12-4 overall, 5-1 in league with Tuesday’s win over Ontario. Sean Boskovich allowed five hits over five innings and struck out seven. He, along with Connor Burns and Alex Marquez, recorded two hits in the victory.

Junior varsity score: Don Lugo 10, Ontario 0.

Ambassador League

Ontario Christian 11, Western Christian 0

Alexander Terriquez went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and scored two runs Tuesday, and pitcher Dylan Alanis tossed six shut-out innings, allowed two hits and struck out nine to lead Ontario Christian past Western Christian. Isaiah Ramos had two RBIs and Alvis Nuno, Eli Stool, Maximus Hernandez and Nolan Jorgensen each knocked in a run for Ontario Christian. 

Nonleague

Don Lugo 14, Arlington 2 (Game 1)

Sean Boskovich had six RBIs to lead Don Lugo past Arlington Monday. 

Don Lugo 13, Arlington 10 (Game 2)

Don Lugo scored nine of its 13 runs Monday in the third inning and held onto defeated Arlington to complete the doubleheader sweep. 

Ayala 9, Valencia 1

Ayala jumped out to a 9-0 lead after four innings last Saturday in its win over Valencia. Joe Naranjo, Cole Koniarsky and John Pappas finished with two hits and two RBIs each and Mateo Matthews had a hit and RBI for Ayala. Five Bulldogs pitchers combined for nine strikeouts and allowed only one hit in the game. 

Chino Hills 10, JW North 1

Chino Hills High’s Travis Hobbensiefken and Skyler Agnew had two RBIs each and Henry Martinez, Blake Borgogno, David Martin, Connor Brady and Connor Harvey each knocked in a run to lead the Huskies to a victory over JW North last Saturday.

Ayala 5, Bonita 2

Ayala’s Kobie Hura had an RBI triple Tuesday and sophomore pitcher Emily Leavitt allowed seven hits and struck out four in the Bulldogs win Tuesday against Bonita. The Bulldogs scored twice in the first inning and added three runs in the second inning in the victory.

Ayala 1, Claremont 0

Hannah Hughbanks scor-ed the game’s only run in the fifth inning March 15 and Victoria Mendoza tossed a complete-game shutout, striking out four and allowed three walks and two hits for Ayala in its win over the Wolfpack. 

Junior varsity score: Claremont 5, Ayala 4. 

Mt. Baldy League

Chino 8, Glendora 3

Chino High’s Karagan Varela went 3 for 4 with four RBIs and Brianna Mills had two hits, three RBIs and scored two runs for the Cowgirls Monday in their win over the Tartans. Violet Salazar added two hits and an RBI for Chino. 

Ambassador League

Western Christian 4, Ontario Christian 2

Western Christian’s Amelia Weber had a hit and two RBIs and Chandler Kerr went 3 for 3 with an RBI in the Fighting Lancers’ win Tuesday against Ontario Christian. 

Ontario Christian 20, Loma Linda Academy 3

Ontario Christian led 14-1 after two innings and 16-3 after three innings Monday in its win over Loma Linda Academy. Ashley Turton, Reese Montgomery, Xoe Ulloa and Kaitlyn Hawkins knocked in three runs apiece and Alexis Toledo, Hannah Kennedy and Harper Haagsma each had two RBIs for Ontario Christian. 

Nonleague

Chino Hills 6, Westlake 2

Chino Hills improved to 16-3 overall with Tuesday win over Westlake. The Huskies trailed 2-0 after the first inning before scoring four runs in the fourth inning and putting up two more runs in the fifth inning. Westlake committed six errors in the loss. 

Chino Hills 12, South Hills 1

Chino Hills 11, South Hills 4

Chino Hills outscored South Hills 23-5 during last Saturday’s doubleheader at the Chino Hills High field. 

Boys volleyball

Miramonte League

Don Lugo defeats Edgewood 14-25, 25-22, 25-13, 25-17

Don Lugo improved to 4-2 overall, 2-0 in league with Tuesday’s win over Edgewood (2-11, 1-3). 

Ambassador League

Ontario Christian defeats Western Christian 25-21, 25-20, 25-23

The Knights’ sweep of Western Christian Tuesday improved the team’s overall record to 12-7-1 and 2-1 in league. Western Christian fell to 8-7 overall, 0-2 in league.
