Ayala 84, Big Bear 61

Ayala’s Austin Clark had 24 points, five rebounds and three assist Nov. 15 in the Bulldogs’ season-opening win over the Bears. 

Dylan Damico added 19 points and nine rebounds, Kameron Hobbs contributed 10 points and nine rebounds and Richard Lineberger added 10 points and three rebounds for Ayala.

Garden Grove Tournament

Ontario Christian 63, Tustin 51 

Ontario Christian won the Garden Grove Tournament championship Saturday night with an 11-point win over the Tillers in the title game.  

Ontario Christian 66, Garden Grove 58 

The Knights rallied from behind to defeat host Garden Grove Nov. 16 in a semifinal game. 

Dylan Haagsma scored 32 points for Ontario Christian.

Ontario Christian 55, Dana Hills 51

Ontario Christian trailed 17-8 after the first quarter but rallied to take a 26-24 lead by halftime in Monday’s win over Dana Hills. William Mouw and Julian Alvarez scored 15 points apiece for Ontario Christian. 

Norco Tournament

Patriot 77, Chino 54 

Chino’s Syrus Gutierrez scored 16 points and Jorge Gutierrez added 14 points in the Cowboys’ loss Saturday to Patriot. 

Gavin Kroll scored a game-high 23 points and Andrew Hale added 15 points for Patriot, which improved to 3-1. 

Workman 55, Chino 48

Chino fell to Workman in its first game of the Norco Tournament.

Lancaster Tournament 

Burbank 42, Chino 41 

Chino trailed 25-12 at halftime and nearly pulled off a comeback Friday in a one-point loss to Burbank. 

Knight 54, Chino 38 

Knight junior Taylor Porchia scored 18 points Friday to lead the Hawk past the Cowgirls in a tournament game.  

Nonleague

Walnut 68, Ayala 33

Emma Lazano had 17 points and Ariana Gonzalez scored 13 points in the Bulldogs’ season-opening loss Nov. 15 to the Mustangs. 

Chino 51, Rancho Alamitos 22

Chino’s Mia Sanchez scored a game-high 13 points, leading the Cowgirls to a season-opening win Nov. 13 over Rancho Alamitos. Kylie Bergiadis scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds, Noelia Silva recorded eight points and four rebounds, Alice Barajas had seven points and six rebounds and Wendy Hernandez contributed six points and five rebounds for Chino.

Ontario Christian 41, Palmdale 37

Sydney Nystrom scored 10 points and Hayley Kline and Jordyn Mason added nine points each Tuesday afternoon in the Knights’ four-point win over Palmdale.

Ontario Christian freshman Maddy Martinez scored 10 points and Sydney Nystrom added eight points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Knights’ victory Monday against Hesperia Christian.

Norwalk 4, Chino 1 

Chino fell to Norwalk Nov. 15 to open its 2018-19 season. Norwalk improved to 2-0.

Walnut 19, Ayala 0

Ayala was shut out Tuesday in a loss to the Mustangs to open the 2018-19 season.
