Ontario Christian 65, Arrowhead Christian 49

Dylan Haagsma scored 17 points, Alex Schloeman and William Mouw added 15 points apiece and Julian Alvarez finished with 10 points Wednesday in the Knights’ win over Arrowhead Christian. Ontario Christian will host Aquinas at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in a battle of the top two teams in the Ambassador League. 

Palomares League

Colony 80, Ayala 61

Colony improved to 7-0 in league Wednesday night with a win over Ayala (13-11 overall, 1-6 in league). The Titans (19-5 overall) led 19-10 after the first quarter and 43-22 at halftime. 

Mt. Baldy League

Chino 48, Chaffey 42

Syruss Galindo scored 14 points and Jalen Parks chipped in with 10 points in Chino’s six-point win over the Tigers Wednesday. With the win, Chino improved its league record to 1-4. 

Montclair 75, Don Lugo 35

Montclair upped its league record to 6-1 with Wednesday’s 40-point win over Don Lugo (12-13 overall, 2-5 in league). 

Baseline League

Chino Hills 66, Rancho Cucamonga 64

Chino Hills improved to 3-3 in league play Wednesday, pulling out a two-point win over the Cougars.

Ontario Christian 38, Arrowhead Christian 27

Ontario Christian’s Deauna Houston scored 11 points and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds in the Knights’ win Wednesday. Cassandra Gishwiller added eight points and 10 rebounds for Ontario Christian, which improved its record to 16-7 overall, 7-4 in league. 

Palomares League

Colony 66, Ayala 49

Ayala’s Ariana Gonzalez scored 24 points and Emma Lazaro added 15 points Wednesday, but the Titans pulled out the league victory at the Colony High gym in Ontario. Cheyenne Forney scored a game-high 36 points for Colony, which improved to 17-8 overall, 4-3 in league.

Mt. Baldy League

Don Lugo 66, Montclair 23

Jailah Lee scored 16 points and had eight rebounds, Brianna Shuttle added 11 points and 10 rebounds and Krystle Medrano had eight points Wednesday to lead Don Lugo past the Cavaliers. Nicole Briggs added 10 rebounds for Don Lugo. 

Chino 62, Chaffey 17

Chino’s Marisa Gonzales scored 12 points and Wendy Hernandez and Alice Barajas added eight points apiece in the Cowgirls’ win Tuesday over Chaffey. The Cowgirls led 25-3 after one quarter and 38-5 at halftime. 

Baseline League

Rancho Cucamonga 46, Chino Hills 38

Chino Hills High’s Dorcus Wu scored 29 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Erica Collins added 11 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks in the Huskies’ loss Wednesday to Rancho Cucamonga.

Ontario Christian 7, Arrowhead Christian 1

Ontario Christian scored five of its seven goals in the second half Wednesday and improved to 19-1-1 overall, 11-0 in league with a win over Arrowhead Christian. With the win, Ontario Christian clinched at least a share of the Ambassador League title with three matches left in the regular season. Matthew Bourne had a hat trick, Eli Stool added two goals and Ben de Falkenberg and Evan Sadler recorded a goal and two assists for Ontario Christian. 

Baseline League

Chino Hills 4, Rancho Cucamonga 1

With Wednesday’s three-goal win over the Cougars, the Huskies improved their league record to 4-1-2. 

Palomares League

Colony 2, Ayala 1

Colony broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in stoppage time Wednesday, lifting the Titans past the Bulldogs in league play. 

Mt. Baldy League

Don Lugo 3, Montclair 2

Don Lugo won its second league game of the season Wednesday with a victory over the Cavaliers. 

Chino 0, Chaffey 0

The Cowboys and Tigers battled to a scoreless tie Wednesday. Chino’s record went to 5-9-3 overall, 1-4-2 in league while Chaffey’s moved to 10-5-5 overall, 2-1-4 in league.

Baseline League

Chino Hills 3, Rancho Cucamonga 2 (OT)

Chino Hills rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit with two second-half goals before scoring the game-winner in overtime Wednesday to defeat the Cougars. 

Palomares League

Ayala 3, Colony 2 (OT)

The Bulldogs improved to 5-10-3 overall, 1-4-1 in league with Wednesday’s overtime win over the Titans. 

Mt. Baldy League

Chino 4, Chaffey 4

Chino’s Mia Chavez, Kylie White, Grace Sanchez and Falyse Sheets scored one goal apiece Wednesday in the Cowgirls’ tie with the Tigers. 

Montclair 3, Don Lugo 1

Don Lugo’s Ruby Landeros scored a first-half goal Wednesday in the Conquistadores’ loss to Montclair. Montclair scored two goals in the second half to earn the victory. 

Ambassador League

Arrowhead Christian 2, Ontario Christian 0

Arrowhead Christian’s Taryn Clark and Faith Joiner scored one goal apiece Tuesday to lead the Falcons past the Knights in league play. 

Girls water polo 

Mt. Baldy League

Chino 5, Don Lugo 4 

Chino won its third straight league game Thursday with a one-goal victory over Don Lugo at the Don Lugo High pool.  

Chino 13, Chaffey 6 

Chino improved to 2-4 in league play Tuesday, swimming pass the Tigers at the Chino High pool.  


CIF-SS Dual Meet schedule 

Chino and Chino Hills high schools will compete today (Jan. 26) at the CIF-Southern Section Dual Meets. 

Chino Hills will compete in the Division 3 meet at Lakewood High School, 4400 Briercrest Ave. in Lakewood. 

The Huskies, an at-large team from the Baseline League, will compete against Pacific View League champion Ventura in the first-round. 

Chino will head to the Division 4 meet at Royal High School at 1402 Royal Ave. in Simi Valley. 

The Cowboys, an at-large team from the Mt. Baldy League, will battle Channel League champion Dos Pueblos in the first-round. 

Matches at both sites will begin at 11 a.m.
