Mt. Baldy League

Don Lugo 11, Diamond Bar 8

Don Lugo scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday and held onto defeat Diamond Bar. 

Colony 6, Chino 5

Chino freshman Jason Casasola knocked in two runs and Aaron Luna, Arthur Briones and Pastor Valdez each recorded an RBI last Saturday, but the Cowboys fell to Colony in league play. 

Chino 6, Don Lugo 5

Chino erased a five-run deficit with six runs in the top of the fifth inning March 8 for a win over Don Lugo. Sergio Galindo had two RBIs and Anthony Vargas and Mitchell Zamora each had an RBI for Chino. Don Lugo’s Andrew Hamilton and Sean Boskovich each had two RBIs, and Connor Burns had an RBI double and scored two runs for the Conquistadores.

Junior varsity score: Don Lugo 4, Chino 0.

Palomares League

Alta Loma 1, Ayala 0 

Alta Loma’s Brent Cota had an RBI single for the game’s only run Wednesday, lifting the Braves past the Bulldogs in league play. It was the Braves’ only hit in the game against Ayala pitch Joe Naranjo, who tossed six innings and struck out six. 

Ayala 7, Bonita 6

Ayala High School’s John Pappas had a home run and three RBIs and Sean McLeod hit a solo home run in the Bulldogs’ win March 8. Cole Koniarsky had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored and Joe Naranjo knocked in a run for Ayala. 


Chino Hills 8, Woodcrest Christian 4

Blake Borgogno went 4 for 4 with three RBIs and pitcher Matt Mattingly tossed six innings and did not allow a walk to lead Chino Hills past Woodcrest Christian Monday. 


Mt. Baldy League

Diamond Bar 8, Don Lugo 6 

Don Lugo’s Ellie Garcia hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday and the Conquistadores had the potential game-tying run at bat when the third out was made, giving the Brahmas’ a two-run victory. 

Chino 6, Don Lugo 3

Chino’s Malaysia Ochoa had a two hits and four RBIs to lead the Cowgirls past Don Lugo March 8. 

Palomares League

Ayala 14, Alta Loma 8 

Ayala’s Hannah Hughbanks, Kobie Hura, Miranda Lista and Tori Mendoza each hit a home run Wednesday in the Bulldogs win over first-place Alta Loma. Alta Loma’s Erica Soliz hit two home runs and Ahi Mattson and Emily Nunez each hit a home run. Ayala scored seven of their 14 runs in the top of the seventh inning. Hura and Marisa Zorrilla each finished with three RBIs for Ayala. 

Ayala 11, Colony 0 (5 innings)

Ayala’s Alyssa Senset hit a pinch-hit three run home run and Marissa Zorrilla and Kayla Rodgers finished with three hits apiece Monday in the Bulldogs’ shut out victory against Colony. Pitcher Hailey Godoy tossed five innings, allowing three hits and two runs to earn the victory.

Ontario Christian’s William Mouw won medalist honors with a 36 in the Knights’ (3-0) victory over Desert Christian on Monday.
