Saturday Champion teams up with Sunday Los Angeles Times Paid subscribers to the Saturday Chino Champion and Chino Hills Champion also receive the Sunday edition of the Los Angeles Times included with their paid Champion subscription. This subscription package is part of a promotional campaign to broaden the circulation of the Times and boost sales of the Champion, according to Champion co-publisher Bruce Wood. “This gives our readers a chance to sample the Times when they might not ordinarily see it, and it gives our paid subscribers something extra,” Mr. Wood said. Among the extras, Mr. Wood said, are Parade Magazine and the manufacturers’ coupons that come with the Sunday Times. “We have local business' coupons in the Champion, and so this will make a nice package for our subscribers,” he said. A one-year subscription to the Champion costs $15 for carrier (home) delivery and $25 for delivery by mail in the Chino Valley and $35/year for mail subscriptions outside the area. Only those whose paid Champion subscription is mailed or home delivered will receive the Sunday Times. The package does not apply to newsstand purchases. Champion subscribers will receive the Champion at the usual delivery time, and the Times will be delivered on Sunday. New subscribers are also eligible for this service. Customers who already subscribe to both papers will still receive an additional Sunday Times. Those customers are encouraged to share their extra copy of the Sunday Times with a friend or neighbor. Subscibers to both the Chino Champion and Chino Hills Champion will receive only one copy of the Times. The Sunday Los Angeles Times covers regional, Southern California, and national news; while the Chino Champion and Chino Hills Champion provide local and community coverage.
