Centro Basco recognized

Three generations of family members at Centro Basco Restaurant in Chino were recognized by the Chino City Council on Oct. 5 with business of the month honors. The restaurant, located at 13432 Central Ave., provides traditional cuisine from the French Basque area. The restaurant is known for hosting fundraisers for non-profit organizations and donating soup du jour to Isaiah’s Rock for the needy. Employees prepared, packaged, and delivered food to seniors in Chino and Chino Hills for 15 months during the pandemic. 

Ribbon cutting event Oct. 20

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20 for the grand opening of AACE Home Care and Financial Services, 2545 Chino Hills Parkway #D in Chino Hills. Raffle prizes will be given.

Members of the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce will take part in the ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:45 p.m.

New businesses in Chino Hills

Tenant improvement permits were issued to the following businesses in Chino Hills in September: America’s Tire in the Crossroads Marketplace for a 1,943-square-foot interior remodel; a 1,900-square-foot Silverlake Ramen Japanese Restaurant at The Shoppes at Chino Hills where the former Pacific Fish Grill was located; a 1,792-square-foot Bloom Tutoring in the Crossroads Entertainment Center in the empty suite adjacent to the new Burger King; 300-square-foot interior remodel at Kaiser Permanente laboratory on Peyton Drive at the 71 Freeway to install 19 virtuo analyzers for bloodwork; a 1,220-square-foot Encourage Learning Tutoring Center in the Pine Corporate Center where the Fit Club was located; and a 1,500-square-foot Tay Ho Vietnamese Restaurant in the Chino Hills Courtyard where Which Wich sandwich store was located.

Job Fair in Chino

A job fair hosted by the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27 at Chaffey College Community Center, 5890 College Park Ave., Chino.

Participants are asked to bring copies of their resume to hand out to potential employers.
