Goodie bags for firefighters, police

Papachino’s Restaurant in Chino and the Rancho Del Chino Rotary Club will collect donations to fill 150 goodies bags for Chino Valley Fire District firefighters and employees of the Chino Hills Police department. Deadline to donate items is Monday, Nov. 16. 

Papachino’s is located at 14501 Ramona Ave., at Eucalyptus Avenue.

Donated items can be small American Flags, local business merchandise, business gift cards, business discounts and coupons, stocking stuffer gifts, Chapstick, sealed store-bought treats and monetary donations.

‘Thank You’ cards will also be accepted. The donor will receive a free fountain soda.

“Let’s use this opportunity as a time to bring our community together and celebrate the wonderful fire department and police department who protected all the homes in the Chino Valley community,” said organizer Trina Tudrick.

Coupon offered for CVUSD staff

Rotary Club of Chino and Squeeze In restaurant in Chino Hills are giving away $10 off coupons for Chino Valley Unified School District staff as a thank you for their work during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Without a doubt, teaching and mentoring students has been a huge challenge during the pandemic,” said spokeswoman Deanna Trang. 

“(The) Rotary Club of Chino would like to say thank you to our teachers, counselors, school nurses, bus drivers, maintenance workers and all of the employees that make up our wonderful school district.”

The coupon, which can be found at facebook.com/ChinoRotaryClub, expires Monday, Nov. 30.

Farmers Market held Wednesdays

The Chino Hills Farmers Market continues 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday at The Shoppes at Chino Hills, corner of Grand Avenue and Boys Republic Drive. 

Vendors sell hot food including tamales, tacos, and pupusas, fruits and vegetables, fresh bread, honey, cold-pressed juice, roasted nuts, salsa, dog treats, pastries, jerky, and more.
