The 2019 San Bernardino County Basin Honor Bands of elementary, middle and high school students will perform in a free public concert at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Memorial Chapel at the University of Redlands. 

Students attending public high schools and middle schools throughout the area must audition for a spot, and teachers recommend their students for the elementary honor band. 

From the Chino Valley district, Kirby Huynh (flute) and Shawnee Herrera (flute) of Ayala High and Trevor Rouse (bassoon) of Don Lugo High will perform in the high school honor band.

The middle school honor band includes Townsend Junior High students Vanessa Chang and Isabella Sanchez (flute), Ella Mao (oboe), Joseph Bailey, Westley Liu and Cynthia Want (alto saxophone), Brenden Feldhaus (clarinet) and Aidan Kelly (trombone); and Woodcrest Junior High students Natalia Nieves (clarinet), Melina Martinez (baritone saxophone) and Samantha Villa (oboe).  

In the honor elementary band are Dolche Oceguera of Glenmeade Elementary (first trumpet) and two students from Briggs Elementary, Adam Flores (second trumpet) and Samantha Gonzalez (second clarinet).
