A suspect in a reported child molestation incident involving a 6-year-old girl in 2018 was arrested Wednesday by the Chino Police Department.
Chino police said the suspect, identified as Jose Antonio Flores-Miranda, 56, owned and operated a child daycare center at his home in the 13100 block of Benson Avenue in Chino, Sgt. Ted Olden said.
Police learned of the alleged molestation at 7 p.m. Tuesday, he said.
“During the course of the investigation, detectives arrested Mr. Flores-Miranda, after serving a search warrant at his home,” Sgt. Olden said.
Mr. Flores-Miranda was arrested at 12:56 p.m. at his Benson Avenue home and booked on $500,000 bail at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
He is being held on one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to San Bernardino County jail records.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in a West Valley Superior courtroom on Friday, records show.
Sgt. Olden said the investigation is ongoing and detectives will work with the San Bernardino County Child and Family Services to follow up on any other leads.
