Mikaela Ramirez and Nirali Patel

Ayala High School students Mikaela Ramirez and Nirali Patel assisted a church and built a community garden in Tijuana, Mexico during their Christmas break from school. The students worked with International Youth Initiative in Orange County to get support from the community, create plans for their time in Tijuana, and obtain supplies. Mikaela and Nirali, who are members of Chino Hills-based EdActs Global, also taught teenagers in Tijuana how to build pallet planters.
