Chino Hills police jailed a San Dimas man Wednesday on suspicion of burglary charges, five days after music school Rockstars of Tomorrow in Chino Hills had its front windows smashed and guitars stolen.
Joe Perez, 43, was booked on $25,000 bail at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, according to jail records.
He was released at 1:38 a.m. Thursday after posting bail.
Mr. Perez is facing charges of burglary and possession of stolen property, according to the Chino Hills Police Department.
Surveillance video captured two people smashing the front windows of the music academy at 4200 Chino Hills Parkway at 2 a.m., taking six guitars before fleeing.
On Tuesday, Chino Hills police detectives got a tip that the guitars were posted for sale online. “Detectives served a search warrant at Mr. Perez’s residence in San Dimas. Two matching guitars were located, along with suspected methamphetamine,” Detective Kyle Glozer said.
Jail records show Mr. Perez was arrested at 2 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the 1600 block of Covina Boulevard in San Dimas.
Anyone with information on the second suspect can call Chino Hills Police at 364-2000.
