The Chino Hills High girls’ cross country team captured its fourth straight Baseline League championships Tuesday afternoon at Central Park in Rancho Cucamonga, securing their spot in the CIF-Southern Section Preliminaries set for Nov. 10.
Jacqueline Duarte, a sophomore, won the individual title for the second time, finishing the three-mile race in 17:48.9. Lauren Jauregui took second overall in 18:10.5 and Miranda McGarry placed ninth in 19:11.1.
On the boys’ side, Chino Hills High’s Noah Rehfeldt won the individual championship in 15:46.3, narrowing beating out teammate Jake Bergmann’s second-place time of 15:47.
Chino Hills placed second in the team standings behind Etiwanda, which won its first boys’ cross country league championship in 28 years.
