Redlands East Valley Tournament
Ontario Christian High won the Redlands East Valley Tournament title last Saturday, dropping only one game in six matches.
The Knights also broke the team’s record for victories in a season with 27, snapping the former record of 24 set by the 1986 teams.

Ontario Christian defeats Woodcrest Christian 25-17, 25-11, 25-11
Ontario Christian, the No. 1-ranked team in Division 5 by the CIF-Southern Section, got 18 kills from senior Annaka Jorgenson and 12 kills from Jenna Holmes Tuesday night in the Knights’ three-set sweep of Woodcrest Christian to win their school-record 28th victory over the season.

Chino defeats Montclair 25-12, 26-24, 25-19
The Cowgirls improved their league record to 6-3 with Tuesday’s straight-sets victory against Montclair.
Junior varsity score: Chino defeats Montclair 25-7, 25-18.
Diamond Bar defeats Don Lugo 25-18, 25-19, 25-27, 25-21
Diamond Bar took over sole possession of first place in the league standings, beating Don Lugo in four sets Tuesday.
Both teams were tied at 7-1 in league entering the match.
Claremont defeats Ayala 23-25, 25-19, 16-25, 25-20, 17-15
Ayala’s season record fell to 15-17 overall, 2-8 in league play with Tuesday’s five-set loss to the Wolfpack (9-9, 5-5) in the final regular season game of the season.
Etiwanda defeats Chino Hills 23-25, 25-16, 25-20, 27-25
Chino Hills High’s overall record dropped to 8-16 overall, 2-9 in league play, following Tuesday’s four-set loss to the Eagles (13-14, 2-9).

Chino Hills 42, Damien 20
Chino Hills High running back Walter Carl II rushed for 256 yards on 30 carries and scored a season-high five touchdowns in the Huskies victory over the Spartans. Carl has run for 16 touchdowns in seven Chino Hills games this season. Evin Anderson caught three passes for 32 yards and a score for Chino Hills, which outscored Damien, 28-6, in the second half.

Colony 27, Ayala 22
Ayala scored 12 points during a 15-second span in the final minute of the fourth quarter to take a one-point lead, only to see Colony drive the field and win the game on a 17-yard touchdown catch by receiver Christian Hill with 7.9 seconds to play. With the loss, Ayala fell to a league record of 0-2. Colony improved to 1-1 in the league standings.
Ayala quarterback Cole McCain finished with 102 yards passing, scored two rushing touchdowns and became the team’s leading receiver for the game when he caught a 45-yard touchdown pass from Gilbert Duran that gave Ayala a 22-21 lead with 36.4 seconds left in the game.

Don Lugo 41, Montclair 7
Don Lugo led 41-0 at halftime during the league win against Montclair. Daryn Ongsing caught two touchdown passes for Don Lugo in the victory.

Chaffey 45, Chino 21
Chino running back Derrin Henry carried the ball 14 times for 135 yards and scored three touchdowns in the Cowboys’ loss to Chaffey. Chaffey’s Anthony Taylor, Nehemiah Phillips and Raymond Rodriguez scored two touchdowns each for the Tigers, who finished 423 yards on the ground.
Linfield Christian 38, Ontario Christian 0
Linfield Christian led 17-0 at halftime and 38-0 at the end of the third quarter in the shut-out victory over Ontario Christian. Ontario Christian, which fell to a 3-4 overall record, has been shut out three times this season.

Ayala improved to 4-15 overall, 2-3 in league play with Tuesday’s one-goal victory over Glendora. The Bulldogs led 5-2 after one quarter and 6-5 at the half.

Don Lugo 17, Ontario 3
Don Lugo won its third straight game Wednedsay with win over Ontario. In its six league victories this season, the Conquistadores have outscored their opponents, 86-13. The Conquistadores only loss in league play was against first-place Diamond Bar, 11-6.
Don Lugo and Diamond Bar will meet at 3:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22 at the Don Lugo High School pool in Chino.

Don Lugo went to 5-1 in league play with Tuesday’s 16-goal victory over the Tigers. The Conquistadores will travel to Chino for the annual Fish Bowl game at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17.
