On Tuesday, the Cowboys’ lost to Division 4A No. 1-seed Linfield Christian, 68-55, to finish the season at 11-3.

Boys basketball 

Division 4A 

No. 1 Linfield Christian 68, Chino 55 

Linfield Christian outscored the Cowboys 39-18 during the second and third quarters Tuesday night in their quarterfinal victory at the Linfield Christian gym. With the loss, Chino ends its season at 11-3.  

Chino 51, San Jacinto 39 

Chino led 17-4 after one quarter and 32-14 at halftime in its May 28 second-round victory to advance to the quarterfinals for the first time since 1965. 

Girls basketball 

Division 2A 

Eisenhower 54, Chino Hills 47 

The Huskies had their season end Wednesday night with a seven-point loss to Eisenhower in the quarterfinals. Chino Hills, which finished in second place in the Baseline League, ends its year at 11-3. 

Chino Hills 53, Pacifica-Oxnard 34 

Chino Hills High’s Kyra Phaychanpheng scored 18 points and Erica Collins finished with 12 points, 17 rebounds, seven blocks and four steals to lead the Huskies’ past Pacifica in a second-round game last Saturday. 

Division 3A 

Ayala 46, Orange Vista 37 

The Bulldogs defeated No. 2--ranked Orange Vista Wednesday to reach the Division 3A semifinals. Ayala will host Valley Christian at 7 tonight (June 5). The winner of tonight’s game will advance to the title game, scheduled for Thursday, June 10. 

Ayala 61, Hillcrest 30 

Ayala advanced to the quarterfinals with last Saturday’s 31-point win over the Trojans.  

Division 3AA 

Ontario Christian 60, Xavier Prep 50 

Ontario Christian sophomore Chloe Briggs scored 30 points and Kiley Goedhart added 10 points in the Knights’ quarterfinal win Wednesday over Xavier Prep. Ontario Christian trailed 50-48 early in the fourth quarter before scoring the game’s final 12 points to pull out the victory. Ontario Christian will play at Chaparral High in Temecula tonight (June 5) in the semifinals. The division title game is scheduled for Thursday, June 10. 

Ontario Christian 75, Hesperia 50 

Ontario Christian High sophomore Chloe Briggs scored 44 points and Madeline Martinez added 10 points in the Knights’ second-round victory last Saturday. Briggs finished with a triple-double with 13 rebounds and 10 assists. 

Baseball 

Division 1 

No. 4 Ayala 3, Beckman 2 

Ayala’s Ryan Moreno broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday with an RBI sacrifice fly to give the Bulldogs a one-run win over Beckman. Cole Koniarsky finished 4 for 4 with a home run for Ayala, which will host Sherman Oaks Notre Dame at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday in a second-round game. 

Division 3 

No. 3 Chino Hills 6, Irvine 2 

Chino Hills pitcher Braden Hofmeyer allowed one hit over 5 1/3 innings and Irvine’s top six hitters combined to go 0-17 as the Huskies’ defeated Irvine Thursday in a first-round game. The Huskies will travel to Fountain Valley on Tuesday for a second-round contest. 

Fountain Valley 6, Don Lugo 5 

Fountain Valley broke a 5-5 tie with a run in the top of the seventh inning and held off Don Lugo Thursday in a first-round game. Don Lugo, which has won nine straight league championships, finishes its season at 18-7. 

Ontario Christian 10, La Salle 7 

Ontario Christian led 7-1 after five innings and held off La Salle Thursday in a first-round contest. The Knights (18-6) will travel to Arlington High in Riverside for a second-round game Tuesday. 

Softball 

Division 1 

Ayala 3, Santa Margarita 0 

Ayala High pitcher Emily Leavitt struck out six and allowed three hits in the Bulldogs’ first-round victory Thursday. The Bulldogs scored their three runs in the fourth inning on RBI singles by Leavitt and Sydney Sensat, and a Santa Margarita error to score Analise Cerecedes. Ayala will play at Roosevelt High in Eastvale today (June 5) in a second-round game. 

Chino Hills 2, Santiago 0

Chino Hills scored a run in the first inning and added a run in the third inning to defeat the Sharks on Thursday in a first-round game. 

Pitcher Maria Luna allowed three hits to pick up the shut out victory for Chino Hills. The Huskies will host South Torrance today (June 5) in the second round. 

Division 3 

Chino 2, Long Beach Millikan 1 (8 innings) 

Chino’s Rachel Riddle drove home A.J. Kuhns in the top of the eighth inning Thursday to lift the Cowgirls past Millikan Thursday in the first-round. Chino will host Cerritos today (June 5) in a second-round contest.   

Don Lugo 2, Hart 1 

Don Lugo improved to 18-5 with Thursday’s first-round victory. Pitcher Ellie Garcia struck out 12 and  Olianna Hayes and Lilly Hernandez each had an RBI for the Conquistadores, who will travel to Charter Oak High in Covina for today’s (June 5) second-round game. 

Division 5 

Ontario Christian 6, Bishop Montgomery 4  

The Ontario Christian Knights defeated the Bishop Montgomery Knights Thursday in a first-round game and will host Ocean View High of Huntington Beach today (June 5) in the second round.
